Free Concerts In New York City
Pack your chairs and head on down to a New York City park near you to check out some great music and live entertainment for free! Music ranging from R & B, Pop, Gospel, Caribbean and Hip-Hop are just a few of the genres you can find around town.
Brooklyn celebrates its 30th Anniversary Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series kicking off in July with performances from Bootsy Collins, The Mighty Sparrow and Public Enemy. August features Ledisi, Joe and a special tribe to Whitney Houston by Cissy Houston. Performances are held Monday nights 7:30 pm at Wingate Field, located on Brooklyn Avenue btw Rutland Road & Winthrop Street opposite Kings County Hospital.
The WBLS Summer Concert Series hosted by your favorite WBLS DJs features ten weeks concerts at several parks throughout Manhattan including the Harlem Summer Stage, Central Park Summer Stage, and Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem. Performances by Hal Jackson’s Talented Teens Winner, Miss N’Neka Boyd, Millennium Dance Studio, FarFetched, and Will Traxx (“Let me see some footwork”) are among the artists scheduled to perform.
