AIDS/HIV awareness Benefit at the Hip Hop Cultural Center @ The Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem
In recognition of World Aids Day Silent Voices United, Inc. (SVU), an organization that focuses on strengthening and empowering a community and today’s youth along with partners MetroPlus Health Plan, New York City’s premiere health provider, hosted a “Got Tested?” AIDS/HIV awareness Benefit at the Hip Hop Cultural Center @ The Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem. This all day event included seminars, film from BET screenings, and some of the hottest know & up and coming artist have lend their talents and music to performances to students from schools throughout New York City.
The festivities kick-off with guest speakers from North general hospital, followed by an exclusive performance of up in coming group SYB performing their new hit single “Recess” “Do the Bow Tie” followed by a film screening of two (2) award-winning shorts from BET Rap-It-UP Black AIDS. It also included a special presentation from Go Girls theater group and North General Hospital, Iris House, and Bronx AIDS Services will provide Free & Confidential HIV Testing all-day and throughout the evening. Julius was the HIV/AIDS Keynote Speaker from Gilead sciences for the evening program including roger of Metro health Plus one of the primary sponsors of this event who spoke about the importance of low-cost health coverage. Throughout the evening SVU featured PSA’s on the screen from various different artists including Jay Rule, Day 26, Dawn of Danity Kane and King Socrates of St Kitts who contributed a special song called “You Ain’t Giving Me (Aids), and a whole host of sponsors lined the walls interacting with the eager crowd. Source Magazine, Power 05, VYBE magazine, 107.5 WBLS, DJ Les. The concert kicked off promptly at 10:00pm which featured and eclectic mix of artists including “Kyle Wooten” “Red wolf & Grammy award winner Juelz Santana. But the highlight performance of the evening came from new comer Psyche of sound who made his grand entrance with dancer dressed in black costumes with eyes and psyche of sound adorned in a lighted costume and helmet. His performance was action packed with break dancers filling the stage. Call him a cross between Prince & Lenny Kravitz because his performance was all that and then some. Hip-hop group XIT19 duo phenomenon from Hempstead, NY and part of the Music Farm New York family ended the night event with their animated performance reminiscent of old school hip-hop.
Silent Voices United will be hosting another event in February so if you missed this one make sure you mark your calendars to come out and get tested and be entertained.

Oh I missed out of the HIV Tests Day. It had been yesterday. Didn’t read this news. Bad factor is my business didn’t help me to diagnosis.
